I enjoy reading, and as a child I have fond memories of going to our local public library, taking out the maximum amount of books (it was 12), and returning a few days later, and repeating the cycle.
As an ‘adult,’ with an income of sorts, I have been buying books. Now normally it is 1 or 2 every or every other month. This is partially due to time, as I don’t have as much time as I had a as a child, but I am making a conscious decision to read more.
I am working on a ‘Reading List,’ which will be published on this blog, as books I would like to read. This will be based on a couple of reading lists of others I have found on the internet, guardian and goodreads recommendations.
In the month of May, I think I got a little excited and purchased different books at separate times, not realising how many I had bought.
The first 4 books in the pile (from The Forty Rules of Love to Inside the Kingdom) were bought at Alef Bookshop.
Hawza Illmiyya, The Life of Holy Mary and Life and of Gnosis was bought from hujjat bookshop.
The rest were bought from Amazon. I have to say I bought Guardians of Shi’ism from Wordery via Amazon. I ordered the book on Sunday night, it was at my house Tuesday morning. That is the most efficient delivery I have had with paying standard delivery.
Clearly you can tell I got a little trigger happy, but I have managed to get through a fair amount of them (A Quiet Revolution is a gift for a dear friend, so minus that one).
