This past week has been hot in England. Temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Those living in predominantly hot countries think nothing of 30 degrees. But bear in mind, we live in the Northern Hemisphere, and England is traditionally known for its rain. We also do not have AC in our houses – with good right I think, AC is expensive to invest in when there is always a chance our summer can last a week.
But as Muslims living here, we have much to be grateful for. Had this ‘heatwave’ fallen a month earlier, Ramadhan would have been difficult. It was already difficult, because of the length of the fast, but put in hot weather and no AC in the homes, that would have been a killer.
So thank you God, for postponing the heat for a month.
